Now
Something I have seen on a few other personal sites is the concept of a 'now' page. What am I doing at the moment? Books I'm reading, movies (cinema) that I have seen or series I'm watching, games I'm playing, etc. Since I usually post something every month or so, I am committing to updating this list on a monthly basis as it is likely to change and become out of date.
Here is my list for October 2025:
- Book:Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells. On book 7, nearly finished - I would like to watch the series but I don't currently subscribe to Apple TV.
- Audiobook:I have been listening to Machine Vendetta by Alastair Reynolds but I don't really get much time to listen to audiobooks at the moment, it is very slow going but I potentially will be driving to Lithgow for hockey once a week so that might ramp up my audiobook time.
- Movie:Took the kids to see Bad Guys 2 at the cinemas during the school holidays. I enjoyed it, kids liked it. Lots of laughs.
- Series:Just finished watching 'The Terminal List: Dark Wolf'. I really enjoyed it - action, spy stuff, twists and turns. I couldn't really remember much about the original, might have to watch it again.
Alien Earth is a new series I am watching - and it is good, really enjoying the tension and horror. I feel like the last episode didn't really have the same tension/horror as previous episodes. Felt a bit flat. - Games:The boys asked to play on my computer the other day and they fired up Rocket League. I have been on a bit of a Rocket League bender since but I think I am starting to hit my limit. Have been enjoying playing FIFA with the boys on the playstation - good wholesome fun.
- Learning:I have been going through a Godot learning course through Zenva (it was offered at a discount price through Humble Bundle) - Made a 2D platformer, a 3D platformer, and now working on walking, jumping, interacting with objects in an open world environment. Its a learning curve, thats for sure, but I am looking forward to expanding into an RPG.
- Other:I have registered to play hockey in the Lithgow Summer competition this year. Starts very soon so I'm a bit nervous about playing with a whole new team in a new competition.
I have also been doing a lot of research into motocamping - I would love to take the bike out on the road and trek for a few days. I have a sports bike so I won't be bush bashing but I am making a list of all the stuff I need and getting prepared. Pretty sure this will be covered in a future post.
