COVID-19.

As a slow but significantly large and ominous thunderstorm rolls over town, I thought it was a great metaphor for the current COVID-19 situation that we are in.

Work has been focused on business continuity plans, developing ‘what if’ scenarios and making sure all staff have the ability to work from home. With increasing closures and restrictions being enforced, there is an ominous and anxious mood. Going to the shops and seeing shelves empty of pasta, bottled water and toilet paper doesn’t help and there is an almost frantic or frenzied pace of activity going on. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 are increasing in the region causing concern and after much deliberation have stopped the kids (as well as ourselves) from seeing their grandparents. It feels like we are on a precipice, slowly creeping to look over the edge.

It’s all starting to feel very real.
