jigsaw home

My 3 year old son received a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle for his birthday. He didn't seem enthusiastic to complete it and rather than him eating the pieces I decided to complete it for him.

This is pretty much the first time I have completed a jigsaw puzzle as an adult. Actually, that's not true but the kid's 100 pc ones don't count.

I enjoyed the challenge, and it was good to get some help from the older kids - bit of fun for the whole family! However, once complete, I had no idea what to do with the puzzle. It couldn't stay where it was, I didn't want to throw it out or pack it back in the box. After turning to the internet, it turns out that many people glue them together and put them on display. While I don't think it looks as good as a framed poster, I like the idea of displaying your work, I think it is a trophy of sorts.

I was originally thinking that I would cut up a wooden frame and put it on a plywood backing however I found that a lot of people place it on foam backing boards so a quick trip to an Arts and Crafts shop, some messing around with glue/sealer, some messing around with spray adhesive and it is now on the wall in my son's room.
